Intellectual Grounding

Standing on fifty years of "Service through Science" to, by, and for Black people, the African American Wholistic Wellness Hub is built upon a profound African-centered intellectual foundation. The philosophical and cosmological grounding is anchored in Skh: The Science of Being, Spiritness, and culture as restorative technology — situating wellness within the interconnecting rings of personhood, familyhood, and neighborhood.

The Hub's praxis is named Alasal Tarey — defined in Songhoy-senni as "the process through which one comes to know and understand one's origin, essence and unfolding as a human being in order to serve humanity." To be well and whole is to know and understand one's origin, essence, and unfolding and thereby contribute to the wellbeing of all.

This intellectual architecture moves beyond Western developmental models to center African episteme, communal ontology, and the understanding that culture itself is both a protective force and a restorative technology.
