The Visionary Architects
Drs. Wade W. Nobles, Lawford Goddard, and Abner J. Boles, III. stand as the visionary architects of the African American Wholistic Wellness Hub Complex that is an integrated, culturally congruent ecosystem designed to restore, affirm, and operationalize African-centered principles of wellness for African American populations.
Wade W. Nobles, internationally recognized scholar and co-founder of The Association of Black Psychologists, provides the philosophical and cosmological foundation through his articulation of Skh: The Science of Being, Spiritness, and culture as restorative technology. His work anchors the Hub’s paradigm shifting from pathology to affirmation, situating wellness within the interconnecting rings of personhood, familyhood, and neighborhood.
Dr. Nobles is considered a scholar, specialist thinker who is an initiator, restorer, visionary, and transmitter of wisdom.
Lawford Goddard brings visionary leadership in educational reform and community empowerment, grounding the Hub’s operational structure in disciplined institution-building and refinement, intergenerational uplift, and culturally congruent pedagogy. His commitment to self-determination informs the Hub’s educational and outreach design.
Dr. Goddard is considered the leader of education, training, vitalism, and verve.
Abner J. Boles, III. contributes strategic development expertise and applied community wellness architecture, translating African-centered philosophical principles into sustainable organizational systems, partnerships, and community-based initiatives that ensure long-term viability and measurable impact.
Dr. Boles, III is considered the leader, authority, chief instructor, guide, Jegna for clinicians, doctors, or healers.
Together, these scholar-practitioners form a generative triad (philosophical architect, institutional strategist, and operational builder) whose collective vision birthed the African American Wholistic Wellness Hub Complex as a living structure of restoration, cultural affirmation, and transformative praxis.

SITE: Location and Building Design
Consistent with the original vision, The Alasal Tarey Transformative Restoration Praxis, formerly called the African American Wholistic Wellness HUB Complex, will serve as a “living container” designed to preserve, comprehend, and actualize the core understanding and best practices of African American people with a focus on wellness. The critical element in the location and housing of The Alasal Tarey Transformative Restoration Praxis is the need for The Alasal Tarey Transformative Restoration Praxis to have an identifiable physical space that reflects the image and interest of the African American community. It is anticipated that the The Alasal Tarey Transformative Restoration Praxis will have a welcome/reception area, therapist in residence complex, information technology center, auditorium/ballroom, archival library, full-service industrial kitchen, education and training suite, specialized designation space, production center, small meeting rooms, administration facilitation and fiscal management offices, staff lounge, and roof top meditation healing garden, and on-site parking.
The selected site location for the The Alasal Tarey Transformative Restoration Praxis complex will be 1918 Martin Luther King Jr Way, Oakland, California.
